Warranty breakdown

The warranty protects the consumer against “Manufacturing Faults and Defects” on the Swimming Pool Cleaner parts/gears and If a Swimming Pool Cleaner was brought in for an assessment due to an issue that has arose

In which it has been found that the fault was due to a Loose shaft which create unalignment or moulded part has been short moulded, flashing is evident or any other process in the manufacturing or assembly side deemed irregular.

These are the type of irregularities that will fall under the “Manufacturing Faults and Defects” Terms and Conditions of the warranty.

When a Swimming Pool Cleaner is assessed and it is found that the integrity of gears/parts are worn or damaged due to either incorrect water balance (Chemical damage), excessive wear due to Incorrect suction applied or running long durations in a pool and lastly damaged by a foreign object or force.

The Limited Warranty will not cover such.

When assessed the Swimming Pool Cleaner shows signs of what type of excessive wear or damage has received and we report back on our findings irrespective of what was told to the receiver of the Swimming Pool Cleaner, the decision is made once the Swimming Pool Cleaner has been evaluated and the findings are noted on what the Swimming Pool Cleaner shows.

The average age that an APC would come in for assessment is 4/5 years.

All models of different Swimming Pool Cleaners have different requirements and setup pertaining to that particular model which needs to be adhered.

This process and design of the warranty has been in place for more than 40 years and still relevant today.

Below is listed the Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions and the 3 Factors that all Pool cleaners irrespective Manufacture and model need to be followed to receive the Longevity of your pool cleaner.

There are 3 factors that are looked at with regards to creating longevity of a Pool cleaner.

1. Suction (Pressure)

2. Runtime

3. Chemical balance

All our cleaners are supplied with the flow gauge, these are very effective if the Pool system is running at its optimum. The big problem is the Pool system pressure does change when backwashes are done, Filter sand is changed, the Pool pump is changed or serviced.

We suggest opening the Regulator valve (Turn in a clockwise direction) in the Weir to its full capacity and rotate the cap (Turn in an anti-clockwise direction) on the valve quarterly until the unit has enough suction to climb the walls to just below the waterline and leave the valve on that setting.

The runtime is determined by the size of your pool pump as well as the size of your pool.

This is used by all pool builders and anyone in the field to determine pump size and Filter for the volume of water at hand.

The total volume of water in your swimming pool needs to run through the filter twice a day. Take into consideration the flow rate of your pool pump.

Pool Volume measurement= Length x Breadth x 1.5 x 1000 = (Volume of water) x 2 = (Total Volume of water)

How long this takes depends on the pump installed as flow rates differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Please confirm flow rates with the supplier.

This information is usually noted on the terminal box on top of the motor or on the side of the motor.

The flow rate will be indicated by either Litres/minute (x 60 =) or Litres per Hour or m3h (x 1000)

The Total Volume of water is divided by the hour flow rate the pump delivers and this will indicate the running hours per day required for that specific pool.

Lastly water chemistry is also vital as incorrect water balance can disrupt the Pool cleaner parts makeup.

Too much chlorine can make plastic components brittle, discolour and even change the rubber components compound. Please ensure that when chlorine is put into the pool that you run the system for a few hours (Pool shop can help specify how long your system will need run when placing chemicals in your pool)

Incorrect acid application can eat away at the rubber components as this is heavier than water and will sink to the deep end and settle.

If the cleaner has finished the cycle and lays dormant in the deep end where the acid rests, will thus cause your cleaner to be exposed to a highly concentrated layer or damaging chemicals.
